After graduating from the University of Westminster with an MA in 2019, British Fashion Council-sponsored designer Hattie Crowther began to establish herself with a series of collections taking inspiration from her northern, working-class background and gender-fluid fashion.
In 2022, she launched her Fuck FIFA collection, exploring the tensions surrounding migrant and LGBTQ+ rights at the Qatar World Cup, salvaging second-hand football shirts to create corsets, scarf skirts, and shrunken T-shirts, juxtaposing a ‘traditionally masculine sport with tailoring and corsetry’. The collection has since been showcased by A$AP Rocky who wore her ‘HUMAN RIGHTS’ England shirt in the video for his track RIOT. This year, surrounding Euro 2024, the designer released her Fuck The Fans collection, which features upcycled England shirts with screen prints of Marcus Rashford, Bukayo Saka and Jaden Sancho, following the racist backlash the players faced after Euro 2020.
